This video is nothing but fluff, the watchtower evidently isn't even putting any effort into their bullshit anymore.

WTS causing more anguish
by GapingMouth ini don't really know where to start on my first post; i feel i have so much to say and yet i am so emotionally tired that it is hard to go through it all again in my head.
but, i do need support and advice and so i will make the effort.. i started having doubts about certain beliefs of the witnesses about 2 years ago and did research since that i now come to the belief there is no god, and witnesses definitely are a cult.. at first it bothered me more on the god issue, but now i am more bothered by the cult issue, mainly because it dictates my life even though i am aware of it.. when i was a child, my mother and father divorced and my mother told me i will live with my father because she was going to die at armageddon being a non witness.
i think, as well as many other pressures i cant list for fear of a very long post, this was the main pressure that made me get baptized even though i wasn't that happy being a witness.

I'm concerned, though, that you've let the God Delusion talk you into no longer believing in God. I wonder if you've researched Dawkins and checked the references in his book?
My eyebrows were raised when I found out that Prospect magazine ran a survey in 2005 which bore the result that Dawkins was one of the world's top 3 intellectuals. When the God Delusion came out, Prospect magazine reviewed it. The title of the review was "Dawkins the dogmatist" and the reviewer labelled the book - and Dawkin's arguments - as "incurious, dogmatic, rambling and self-contradictory".
Dawkins has been inspired by a guy called Antony Flew, who's regarded as one of the fathers of "modern atheism". Flew decided in 2004 that by following the lines of evidence (as a scientist should) he now believes that there is a God. He's written a book about this change in belief called "There is a God".
Sadly, often a JW would rather a person become an atheist than no longer believe in the Governing Body, but I'm pointing these things out to you as I don't think Dawkins is as transparently honest about the facts as people believe he is. And let's face it, the purpose of the God Delusion, as he admits, is to turn religious people into atheists.
It never takes long for religious fanatics to hijack threads on here.
Dawkin's words may be one reason to not believe in God, but the bullshit that most christians come out with is the main reason i do not. If you're not interested in helping people but would rather just preach your theological virus to them then i suggest you avoid posting in threads like this. The thread starter is already having trouble with a cult, don't try and use that against him to tempt him into another cult.

Was this an "Oops" moment?
by cameo-d ingod said: "man has become like us, knowing good and evil"....and because of this they were expelled from the garden.. was this an oops moment?
does this indicate that god did not mean for man to have reasoning capability?

Yunno, that's the part of the whole fucking thing that i really never understood!
The moment where mankind destroys false religion (a good thing in God's eyes) and declares peace & security (a good thing in God's eyes) and unites the world under one government (a good thing in God's eyes)... is the one moment where God decides to step in & end it all???!!!! I mean why? Because 'man would never succeed'? Well how the hell do we know that if God wouldn't even give man a damn chance?! He gave all the crappy governments of the past chance after chance, as well as chance after chance for an endless continuum of 'false religions'! So why shouldn't a half decent government that wants peace & security & has done away with false religion get a chance? And so what if they go after the j-dubs, it's not like they'd even be neccessary anymore anyway!!!!
I mean come on, if that doesn't make God the most stupid piece of shit ever to grace the natural or supernatural world then i don't know what does!!!!!

When you run out of rational reasons to believe your own bullshit, a list of pathetic urban legends is an appropriate substitute...
... if you're braindead that is.

I went on another Bible study yesterday - Any suggestions on what I could have said?
by BonaFide ini was visiting a friend that is a witness yesterday.
his mother was preparing for the bookstudy with another sister who is very new.
we are on the chapter about blood this week.

"M: Plus, blood transfusions often have AIDS or Hepatitis. So its wise to follow Jehovah's counsel"
The whole "we are correct not to take blood cause it can be dangerous" argument is complete bollocks!
Every time you get into a car & drive somewhere you run the risk of dying, and the risk is far greater than the risk of dying from a blood transfusion. Yet j-dubs drive all the time & have no problem with it. Most of them drive for ministry, meetings & conventions as well, which is a journey they wouldn't have to take were they not j-dubs. I imagine the amount of j-dubs who have ever died while driving to or from some kind of theocratic event far outnumbers the amount of people who have died as a result of blood transfusions. So that reasoning is complete shite & is totally infuriating! It is a pathetic attempt to justify something which clearly has no other justification whatsoever, least of all scriptural (not that the bible is worth reading anyway).
J-dubs are past masters at clutching at straws. Fuck them all.

What religion do X-JWs belong to now?
by jonathan dough ini get the feeling many x-jws are floating about aimlessly and don't join christendom, still living with the jw indoctrinated belief that they are all the work of the devil.
does that make sense?
are they supposed to sit around in small groups in their living rooms reading scripture like ray franz recommended in crisis of conscience?

Inability to take hints
by rebel8 inwhen people would say, "i don't understand your beliefs on dfing," or, "i don't understand your beliefs on the end times calculations," (even after these were explained)....i used to think i'm just smarter than them.. now i realize they comprehended it just fine but were trying to say, "i don't agree with you," in a softer way.when people would say, "i'm too busy to talk to you right now," i thought that was an invitation to return.. now i realize they were trying to say, "please go away and don't come back," in a softer way.

Oh you mean God's 'life saving message' that people don't really need cause God can supposedly 'read people's hearts'?
Yeah sorry, we forgot about that.
